New Delhi, Dec 27 (NationPress) The BJP strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, for engaging in activities deemed anti-India during his recent trip to Germany. The party raised concerns over his participation in a meeting of the contentious Global Progressive Alliance.
During a press conference held at the party's headquarters in New Delhi, BJP National Spokesman Sudhanshu Trivedi characterized the Global Progressive Alliance as a coalition of entities hostile to India's interests. He asserted that it has connections to George Soros, an American billionaire and philanthropist, who is alleged to interfere politically in various nations.
Trivedi demanded an investigation into Gandhi’s international affiliations and his activities while in Germany, stating, "As you may know, during this same yatra, Rahul Gandhi met Cornelia Woll, a member of the Central European University praesidium, which is funded by Soros' Open Society Foundation."
He further noted, "When Sam Pitroda was questioned about the alliance’s ties to the Congress party, he admitted that Rahul Gandhi is part of its praesidium while he himself is merely a member. This indicates that Gandhi is in a leadership role, while Pitroda is just a participant," he added.
"I demand a clear response from the Congress about the 110 nations claiming to be in a democratic alliance. Among these, approximately 57 are Muslim-majority countries lacking a stable democracy; many are either theocratic or fragile democracies. Additionally, around 30-40 are monarchies, and numerous countries are governed by dictatorial regimes," he stated.
"Is Rahul Gandhi orchestrating an international narrative against India?" he questioned.
Trivedi highlighted that Gandhi often travels abroad and makes statements critical of India. He referred to Sam Pitroda, a long-time advisor to Gandhi's family, as a key influencer of his ideological perspective.
During his time in Germany, Gandhi also met with Woll, a professor at the Berlin-based Hertie School, who is reportedly linked to anti-India efforts.
