Chennai, Sep 27 (NationPress) The Tamil Nadu BJP's state spokesperson, A.N.S. Prasad, has aggressively criticized actor Vijay and his organization, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), alleging that he is serving as a proxy for the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). Prasad warned that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is ready to launch a significant offensive against the DMK in the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections.
He stated that the political landscape in Tamil Nadu has deteriorated into a realm of “advertisement-driven propaganda and corrupt vote-trading,” overshadowing true welfare governance. “The populace is weary of this so-called ‘strategy’—a vote-stealing circus. Democracy requires visionary initiatives in food, water, education, healthcare, and industry, yet the DMK has transformed politics into a den of thieves and plunderers,” he asserted.
Prasad contended that the DMK is investing “thousands of crores into an advertisement-fueled political machine” and has enlisted actor Vijay to fragment the anti-DMK vote. He pointed out that Vijay’s statewide events—from his inaugural Vikravandi meeting to his recent rally in Namakkal—are being “lavishly funded by lottery barons and the DMK’s embezzled wealth,” adding that Vijay's criticisms of the BJP and the central government portray him as a puppet dancing to the DMK’s manipulative tune.
He claimed that the NDA, under the leadership of AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran, is garnering “massive public support.” “Wherever EPS campaigns, there is a wave of people. The BJP, led by Nainar Nagendran, is preparing for a vigorous campaign to expose the DMK’s failures,” he stated.
Prasad also targeted political strategist Sebastian Simon, accusing him of employing “divisive and extremist tactics” and employing “blasphemous rhetoric,” urging him to cease “mocking Hindu beliefs.” He alleged that the DMK’s “pen war room” is orchestrating everything—from Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s subtle comments about Vijay to Vijay’s “reel-driven” events—calling it an “elaborate drama to confuse voters.”
He concluded by asserting that Tamil Nadu's electorate “will not be deceived” and predicted that the NDA, bolstered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the legacies of MGR and Jayalalithaa, would “sweep the 2026 polls and restore pride and people-centric governance to the state.”
