BJP and Congress Exchange Heated Remarks Over Scindia's 'Aged' Correspondence

Bhopal, Dec 10 (NationPress) A heated exchange has unfolded between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Opposition Congress in Madhya Pradesh regarding a letter from Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Scindia reportedly sent a letter to the Sheopur District Collector in January, requesting assistance for a farmer. The dispute ignited when the chief of the MP Congress unit, Jitu Patwari, made a sarcastic remark about Scindia during a public gathering in the Vijaypur Assembly constituency on Monday.

This constituency was recently won by Congress in the bypoll. During his speech, Patwari invited a senior citizen to the stage, took a letter from him, and displayed it to the crowd. The Congress leader asserted that the elderly man (pointing to the individual on stage) had approached Scindia for help in reclaiming his land, which had been unlawfully seized by land-grabbers.

According to Patwari, Scindia penned this letter on January 8 to the Sheopur District Collector, urging an investigation into the matter. However, no action has been taken, and the elderly man has yet to recover his land from the goons who unlawfully occupied it.

"Almost a year has passed since this letter was written, but we are still waiting for action. Scindia recognized the plight of this helpless senior citizen and reached out to the district collector, yet nothing has happened. This indicates that Scindia's letter holds no significance in the BJP government," Patwari stated.

Patwari's comments drew a response from the BJP's MP unit chief, V. D. Sharma. In a press release issued later on Monday, Sharma countered Patwari's claims, accusing the Congress leader of attempting to deceive the public with his false assertions.

"Jyotiraditya Scindia is a respected leader within the BJP, and his family has longstanding ties with the RSS. Scindia's family has consistently followed the path of 'jan seva' (public service). Frustrated by successive electoral defeats, Congress leaders are resorting to falsehoods against Scindia," V.D. Sharma responded.

He further remarked that the Congress party has lost its footing in Madhya Pradesh and across the nation, which is why its leaders are making unfounded accusations against the BJP. Sharma emphasized that the BJP campaigned in the Vijaypur bypoll with the support of every party worker.

"Congress has intentionally attempted to mislead the public regarding the Vijaypur bypoll. The BJP contested the Vijaypur bypoll with backing from all party members. Although we lost the Vijaypur bypoll, the party garnered more votes than in previous elections," Sharma noted. It is worth mentioning that following his surprising defeat in Vijaypur, former Minister and BJP candidate Ramniwas Rawat had alleged that some senior party leaders plotted against him in the election.
