New Delhi, April 14 (NationPress) The president of Delhi's BJP unit, Virendra Sachdeva, criticized AAP National Convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday for taking advantage of Dalits while contributing minimally to their educational, social, and economic advancement. This is evident from the reported under-utilization of Rs 891 crore designated for this purpose over the past four years.

Sachdeva asserted that during Kejriwal's decade-long governance, he politically manipulated Dalit and oppressed communities, merely displaying Baba Saheb's images without following through on his principles.

The Delhi BJP chief pointed out that while Kejriwal adorned the Secretariat with Baba Saheb's portraits, he showed no commitment to executing the three educational initiatives named after him or improving conditions in Dalit colonies.

Sachdeva emphasized that the previous Kejriwal administration reduced Dalit upliftment to mere hoardings and images of Baba Saheb, making grand promises of progress in Dalit colonies from 2020 to 2024.

However, out of the Rs 260 crore budgeted during those four years, only Rs 121 crore was actually spent, a sum nearly identical to what the Kejriwal government allocated for constructing a ‘palace’ for himself and equipping ministers’ offices in the Secretariat.

Throughout its tenure, the Kejriwal administration announced three schemes under Dr. Ambedkar’s name targeting Dalits, backward castes, minorities, and economically disadvantaged sections, but all faced significant implementation challenges.

In 2020, the Kejriwal government launched the Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana aimed at supporting Scheduled Caste students, with a budget of Rs 180 crore from 2020 to 2024. Yet, only Rs 4.4 crore was utilized.

Similarly, the AAP government rolled out the Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana for students from minority, caste-based backward, and economically weaker backgrounds with a budget of Rs 250 crore over four years, but only Rs 4.2 crore was spent.

Despite claims of enhancing education, the Kejriwal government initiated a third scheme – the Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Pratibha Yojana – with a funding allocation of Rs 461 crore from 2020 to 2024, but only Rs 32.2 crore was utilized.

Sachdeva remarked that today (Monday), coinciding with Babasaheb's birth anniversary, Kejriwal should address the Dalit, minority, and economically weaker communities of Delhi regarding why less than 5 percent of the Rs 891 crore earmarked for their educational upliftment was actually spent, totaling only Rs 40.80 crore.
