Chandigarh, Dec 15 (NationPress) Following the alarming receipt of bomb threat emails by 11 schools in Jalandhar, panic ensued as parents rushed to collect their children. The BJP's national General Secretary, Tarun Chugh, criticized the AAP government for its failure to curb the climate of fear affecting school children in Punjab.
Chugh has called for an investigation by the NIA, suggesting that these threats could be part of a calculated scheme by subversive elements aimed at instilling fear among students and their families, indicating a severe breakdown in law and order in the border state.
He questioned whether the Bhagwant Mann administration is inadvertently aiding ISI interests or simply incapable of managing disruptive influences.
Chugh outlined that the situation is dire, as gangsters and mafias operate freely, fostering an environment of terror. He noted, “It’s distressing that children are now targets of such threats while the Mann government falsely claims to enhance educational standards.”
Labeling it a severe and negligent failure on the part of the Mann government, Chugh insisted on a comprehensive investigation.
A notice from St Joseph's Convent School to parents stated: “We wish to inform you that the school will have a half day today, December 15. All students will be released at 11:55 am. Please disregard any rumors; the school has been thoroughly checked by the relevant authorities, and no threats have been found.”
Reacting to the bomb threat emails, Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur confirmed that 11 schools reported receiving these threats. “Currently, the emails appear to lack authenticity as they share the same format. Our teams are investigating their origins, similar to those received in Amritsar.
