Chandigarh, April 18 (NationPress) BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh launched a fierce critique against the AAP-led Punjab administration on Friday, accusing it of dragging the state back into the "dark days of terrorism" through its "dangerous collusion" with the Congress.

In a pointed statement, Chugh asserted that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has utterly "failed" to safeguard national interests and is "deliberately cultivating an atmosphere of terror in Punjab".

He charged both AAP and Congress with collaborating to undermine peace and security within the state.

Chugh further claimed that the Mann government is now attempting to "suppress dissenting voices, a perilous development in a state already plagued by lawlessness".

According to him, "People in Punjab are engulfed in fear. The sense of insecurity intensifies daily under this ineffective regime".

He added that rather than taking responsibility for the nearly two dozen grenade blasts, the Mann administration is disgracefully trying to shift blame onto the opposition.

"First, police stations were attacked. Then, Hindu religious sites were targeted. Now, political leaders face threats from anti-national elements. How much more evidence is necessary to demonstrate the breakdown of law and order in Punjab?" Chugh questioned.

Directly addressing the Mann government, he asked, "Why are anti-national forces operating freely in Punjab? Is this silence and inaction indicative of complicity or incompetence? It seems the AAP government is allied with disruptive elements to thrust Punjab back into its troubling past".

Notably, a verbal clash is ongoing between the Mann administration and Congress after Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa allegedly stated to a television channel that 50 bombs infiltrated the state, 18 of which exploded while 32 remain.

In response, the Mohali Police lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against Bajwa, claiming he disseminated misleading information to incite unrest.

This past Wednesday, the Punjab and Haryana High Court instructed the Punjab government not to engage in "coercive" actions against Bajwa until April 22.

On Monday, Chief Minister Mann cautioned opposition leaders against "politics of threat and terror", asserting that the populace would not tolerate their "divisive" and "mischievous" behavior.
