Agartala, April 1 (NationPress) Chief Minister Manik Saha of Tripura declared on Wednesday that the period of muscle power and communal tension in politics is coming to a close. He expressed his conviction that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to establish the next government in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), aiming to foster the development of the Janajati (tribal) communities.

During an event where he inaugurated ten campaign vehicles outside the state party headquarters, Saha emphasized that these vehicles will journey through all tribal-dominated regions to promote awareness regarding the developmental initiatives undertaken by the BJP-led administration.

With the TTAADC elections approaching on April 12, the Chief Minister noted that this campaign seeks to connect with communities that may not yet be fully aware of government programs. “The vehicle will tour the area to inform locals about the endeavors for Janajati welfare,” he stated.

Saha remarked that the BJP is garnering a favorable response from the populace, revealing that several leaders from the Tipra Motha Party (TMP) have already defected to the BJP, with others showing interest in making the switch.

He criticized prior governments, claiming that both the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the TMP have not achieved substantial development in the TTAADC. In contrast, he credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prioritizing the welfare and advancement of Janajati communities.

“The public now realizes that politics can't thrive on deception; genuine work is essential. Only the BJP can deliver authentic development in TTAADC,” he asserted, promising to expose alleged corruption within the council.

Additionally, the Chief Minister emphasized the organized nature of the BJP's campaign, with party members actively participating throughout the region. He mentioned that he would soon join the campaign, citing growing public trust in Prime Minister Modi as a key factor in the BJP's support.

Addressing recent violent incidents, Saha characterized them as expressions of frustration and noted an attack on a minister's vehicle, assuring that law enforcement would respond appropriately. “People desire peace, and we are dedicated to providing it. We are confident that the BJP will govern the TTAADC,” he concluded, dismissing land-related concerns as misleading.

Present at the event were BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya, Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy, and other party officials.

In related news, a clash between BJP and TMP supporters in Kamalpur, Dhalai district, resulted in injuries to eight individuals, including three security personnel.

The 30-member TTAADC, consisting of 28 elected representatives and two nominated by the state government, is set to hold elections on April 12. The Tipra Motha Party, an ally of the ruling BJP, has governed the strategically significant TTAADC since 2021, which oversees nearly two-thirds of Tripura’s 10,491 sq km area.
