BJP Criticizes Kejriwal for Neglecting Delhi's Garbage Crisis

New Delhi, Dec 8 (NationPress) Former Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and prominent BJP figure Vijay Goel, along with BJP supporters, organized a demonstration in Ghazipur on Sunday, directing criticism towards the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration for its inability to resolve Delhi's critical issues, notably the ongoing garbage crisis over the past decade. Goel asserted that the AAP government had failed in all aspects.
Goel specifically targeted former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of pervasive corruption, environmental disregard, and a lack of political determination to tackle the city’s pressing problems.
In a statement to IANS regarding the notorious garbage mountain in Ghazipur, Goel condemned the AAP government for its inaction. “The residents of Ghazipur are being urged to move, but why should they? It is the garbage mound that needs to be removed. This heap of waste has now surpassed the height of the Qutub Minar, reaching 75 metres,” he stated, adding that despite spending substantial amounts of money, the government has failed to resolve the issue.
The BJP leader further commented, “Over the past decade, there has been no noteworthy progress in Delhi. Kejriwal’s administration has made numerous pledges to clear this garbage. Initially, they promised to resolve it by 2023, then postponed it to 2024, and now to 2026. The AAP governs both the MCD and Delhi’s administration, facing no barriers aside from their lack of intention. Instead of addressing issues, they are focused on political maneuvering. If Kejriwal had his way, he would mortgage Delhi for his political advantage.”
Emphasizing broader environmental issues, Goel stated, “Delhi is facing serious pollution challenges. The Yamuna is severely contaminated, drinking water is unsafe, and vehicle emissions are uncontrolled. The Kejriwal government has failed on every front.” He also noted that this topic would be a key issue in the upcoming elections, and the BJP's manifesto would promise solutions to Delhi’s environmental and waste management problems.
“The BJP will create a ‘double-engine government,’ utilizing the backing of the Central government and the Lieutenant Governor to eradicate these garbage mountains. The people of Delhi are prepared to dismantle this corrupt administration,” Goel expressed, showing confidence in his party's governance strategy.
