Chennai, March 9 (NationPress) Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson and senior leader ANS Prasad criticized DMK leader and state minister Sekar Babu for his unjustified criticism of state BJP president Annamalai.
The BJP leader remarked on Sunday that, akin to the character Shakuni from the Mahabharata, who schemed against the Pandavas and Krishna, Sekar Babu is involved in political maneuvers to impede the BJP's progress in Tamil Nadu and stifle Annamalai's ascent.
He asserted that such underhanded politics would eventually backfire.
He stated, "Just like a stork that waits for the ocean to dry to feast on dried fish, only to perish from hunger, the DMK and Chief Minister Stalin, who are anxiously trying to thwart the BJP's grand alliance for the 2026 Assembly elections, will face their political demise."
He remarked that Sekar Babu is targeting the BJP rather than addressing his criticisms to Stalin.
ANS Prasad mentioned that Tamil Nadu's Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, Sekar Babu, has been persistently making uncivil and demeaning remarks against the Tamil Nadu BJP and its leader Annamalai.
He emphasized, "This must cease immediately," adding that the DMK's political theatrics—where anyone who critiques the party's corruption or government failures is unfairly accused, tarnished, or entangled in fabricated cases—will be challenged by the BJP.
"Commending those who criticize the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, rewarding them in the name of Periyar (E.V. Ramasamy), and resorting to petty political tactics to stifle dissent will no longer be accepted," Prasad stated.
The Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson pointed out that Sekar Babu, who previously labeled Annamalai an 'imported' leader, should remember that he was expelled from AIADMK for betraying former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and subsequently was 'imported' into DMK.
He noted that Prime Minister Modi's vision for uplifting the underprivileged inspired Annamalai to join the cleanest nationalist movement, the RSS.
Prasad stated that trained in service and discipline, Annamalai joined the BJP, a national party committed to the welfare of the nation.
He added, "Today, Annamalai stands as the backbone of Tamil Nadu BJP, a beacon of hope for the marginalized, and is executing public welfare initiatives with integrity."
He remarked: "Under the so-called Dravidian Model of DMK's governance, Tamil Nadu is descending into a state plagued by corruption, casteism, separatism, religious extremism, and terrorism."
The BJP leader pointed out the alarming increase in crime, including murder, robbery, rape, and drug culture.
"Despite the rising sexual violence against women, particularly school-going girls, the DMK government remains apathetic," he stated.
He asserted that Sekar Babu, who should be incarcerated for his 'illegal activities' in North Chennai, is instead resorting to 'cheap political theatrics' against Annamalai.
Prasad also highlighted that in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the DMK received 10,500 fewer votes in Chief Minister Stalin's Kolathur constituency compared to the 2021 Assembly elections, questioning whether Sekar Babu could elucidate this.
He stated that the populace is now questioning whether Sekar Babu is genuinely a 'Hindu Religious Endowments Minister' or merely a 'grocery store manager'.
Sekar Babu, who derisively refers to Annamalai as a 'Karnataka duplicate police officer', should brace for the repercussions, he warned.
He concluded that the BJP will disclose details regarding Sekar Babu's 'corrupt' dealings, including illegal constructions in North Chennai under benami names, the 'misappropriation' of temple properties, and 'unauthorized buildings' lacking Chennai Corporation approval.
Even within the DMK, many acknowledge that he is merely engaging in 'second-rate political drama', hoping to maintain his ministerial position, asserted the BJP leader.
ANS Prasad confirmed that the BJP will persist in advocating for the people's rights and will not be dissuaded by the DMK government's attempts to 'silence' it.
