Bengaluru, April 13 (NationPress) BJP State President and MLA, B.Y. Vijayendra, remarked on Monday that the initiative to allocate 33 percent reservation for women marks an historic milestone and should be celebrated in golden letters. He attributed this significant achievement to the strong resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the live broadcast of the Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan in New Delhi, which featured Prime Minister Modi and other esteemed guests, Vijayendra emphasized the Prime Minister’s steadfast belief in the strength of women across the nation.

He criticized the Congress party for undermining women's empowerment, highlighting that AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and other officials dismissed the women’s reservation as a mere “political gimmick” orchestrated by the BJP.

Vijayendra stated that PM Modi has consistently communicated to both the nation and the world that women's empowerment is essential for nation-building and praised his dedication to this cause.

He asserted that women’s contributions will be pivotal in transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, and emphasized that the long-cherished aspirations of women in the country are finally being realized.

He acknowledged that the Prime Minister had recognized the participation of all political factions in advancing women’s reservation.

Vijayendra characterized the decision to implement 33 percent reservation for women as momentous, extending his congratulations to everyone, and stated that the Prime Minister's decisive action should be greeted with enthusiasm.

Former Deputy Chief Minister and MP, Govind Karjol, along with other BJP Mahila Morcha leaders, were also present at the event.

Meanwhile, Dr. S.G. Susheelamma, a Padma Shri awardee and founder of Sumangali Seva Ashrama, noted that the long-sought demand for 33 percent reservation for women is finally being fulfilled under PM Modi's leadership, calling it a joyous occasion for women nationwide.

Speaking at a press conference at Sumangali Seva Ashrama in R.T. Nagar, Bengaluru, she remarked that the call for 33 percent reservation had been pending for many years.

“Today, women have excelled in various fields and established their identities. Enhanced political representation will further empower them and enhance their participation,” she stated.

She highlighted that women have demonstrated their capabilities across all domains.

“In the past, women were often overlooked within households, but now their influence is substantial. From rural areas to the national arena, they have exhibited their skills, working as scientists, judges, and pilots.

“Even those from tribal and forest communities are stepping forward to express themselves,” she observed.

Dr. Susheelamma remarked that numerous welfare programs initiated by the Prime Minister have significantly uplifted women, citing initiatives like 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' as measures that have fortified women's status.

She added that increased representation in legislative bodies will help fulfill the vision of a developed India.

“Today, women are forming self-help groups, gaining confidence in public speaking, pursuing higher education, securing jobs, and engaging in entrepreneurship—all thanks to the initiatives undertaken by the Prime Minister,” she explained.

She expressed relief that the long-standing delays in implementing women’s reservation are being resolved, stating, “On behalf of all women, I extend my gratitude to Prime Minister Modi.”

Encouraging women to take on active roles, she asserted that greater representation as MLAs and MPs would amplify their voices.

“With reservation, women will become more aware and assertive. They will prioritize societal development over personal ambitions, tackling issues like drinking water, housing, electricity, and road infrastructure within their constituencies,” she added.

She called upon everyone to support the Prime Minister's efforts towards advancing women’s empowerment.
