New Delhi, Sep 5 (NationPress) BJP leader Dilip Ghosh on Friday criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, claiming her administration is employing authoritarian measures as the Assembly elections draw near. Ghosh remarked, “With the elections approaching in Bengal, Mamata Banerjee's government seems to be frustrated. This frustration is manifesting in their increasingly authoritarian behavior. Anyone who opposes or protests is met with harsh suppression. They instill fear among opposition party members and the general populace.”
This statement followed a dramatic incident in the West Bengal Assembly, where five BJP MLAs faced suspension and CM Mamata Banerjee launched a fierce critique of the BJP amid chaos in the House.
“The BJP is filled with 'vote-thieves', deeply corrupt, and oppressors of the Bengali people, all while being experts in deceit. The BJP represents a national embarrassment, and I denounce them vehemently,” CM Banerjee asserted in the Assembly.
Ghosh also addressed the controversy surrounding the film 'The Bengal Files'. He stated, “This film is crafted for the people of Bengal, but they won't have the opportunity to view it. Currently, the public is witnessing events akin to those depicted in 'The Bengal Files' firsthand... whether it's the RG case, the law college issue, or violence against women, people are witnessing this and are yearning for change.”
Additionally, Ghosh critiqued RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav regarding his remarks about the NDA in Bihar, saying, “People do not hold a favorable view of their family; they believe that bringing in Rahul Gandhi will secure them a win. Rahul is primarily focused on salvaging his Congress party, aiming for 2-4 seats in Bihar, which will be a daunting task. Tejashwi should concentrate on his own party rather than the NDA.”
