Kolkata, April 20 (NationPress) BJP leader Dilip Ghosh on Sunday launched a sharp critique of Mamata Banerjee, labeling her the "most incompetent" Chief Minister in the history of West Bengal and claiming that the state has endured significant hardships under her governance.
Supporting fellow BJP figure and actor Mithun Chakraborty’s call for the implementation of President's Rule in West Bengal, Ghosh expressed alarm over the deteriorating law and order situation and emphasized the necessity for military presence to restore public safety.
Chakraborty, in remarks to IANS earlier, stated, "If this (violence) persists, then undoubtedly President's Rule should be imposed without delay. I've made this request multiple times… At the very least, deploy the military for two months during the elections; their presence will ensure fair elections."
In response, Ghosh told IANS, "Given the current circumstances, many believe that Mamata Banerjee is incapable of managing Bengal. Without President's Rule, the safety of citizens and their properties is at risk, and genuine change in Bengal is impossible. Mamata Banerjee's strategy to win elections using goons and weapons is perilous for the state."
He further remarked that the Chief Minister has repeatedly failed to assume responsibility for any crisis and accused her of shifting blame.
"She accomplishes little, cannot manage anything, and points fingers at others when issues arise. People have come to understand that she lacks the capacity to tell the truth. Mamata Banerjee stands as the most incompetent Chief Minister of Bengal, and the state has suffered immensely during her leadership," he stated.
Ghosh continued by saying that amidst the turmoil, it is the RSS and BJP workers who are actively assisting the populace on the ground.
"Currently, it is RSS and BJP volunteers who are out there aiding the homeless, risking their own lives. Mamata Banerjee has done nothing. Journalists are being barred from entering troubled areas. Why is this happening? Why aren’t the police apprehending the wrongdoers? In instances of violence, the police are absent; they are under the state government’s jurisdiction," he alleged.
He also mentioned that public confidence in Mamata Banerjee's administration has waned.
"Citizens are calling for the deployment of the BSF because trust in Mamata Banerjee has eroded," Ghosh concluded.
