New Delhi, Feb 10 (NationPress) BJP lawmaker Nishikant Dubey on Monday stated that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), recently discontinued by the US President, had been financing anti-India factions with the intention of undermining the nation. He urged the government to initiate an extensive investigation to expose this malicious plot.
While addressing the Lok Sabha during the zero hour, Dubey linked George Soros, a well-known critic of India, to the Congress party and its prominent figures, alleging that they received funds through indirect channels to advance a Western agenda.
The BJP lawmaker pointed out that US President Donald Trump had completely dissolved the USAID, claiming it was intentionally employed to destabilize sovereign governments in various countries through illicit funding.
Asserting a series of inquiries, the BJP MP asked, “Did the USAID allocate Rs 5,000 crore to the Open Society Foundation managed by George Soros to destabilize India? Did the USAID and the Soros Foundation provide financial support to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust?”
He further alleged that organizations funded by USAID had incited protests against government initiatives like the Agniveer Yojana and supported the movements for a caste-based census and the Naxal uprising.
As the BJP lawmaker asserted that anti-India elements were being financed by USAID with the backing of the Congress party, it triggered strong reactions from the opposition members. Congress representatives protested and sought a point of order in the House, which was denied by the chair.
The Lok Sabha MP went on to accuse USAID of being involved in a broader scheme to destabilize nations, including the transformation of Nepal from a 'Hindu' nation to a secular state, claiming it was executed at the former's behest.
He insisted that the government conduct a comprehensive investigation to identify who benefited financially from the now-repealed USAID program and ensure their prosecution.
