New Delhi, April 5 (NationPress) BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Sunday highlighted what he termed another "Congress ka Kala Adhyay (dark chapter of Congress)" that dates back to 1957, asserting that during that time, India effectively became a "colony of two superpowers"—the United States and Russia.
While referencing the establishment of Kerala's inaugural elected Communist government on April 5, 1957, led by EMS Namboodiripad, Dubey accused Congress leaders Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi of colluding with the United States and the CIA to undermine the state government, amid what he claimed was a Soviet outreach for support.
"On this day in 1957, a Communist Party government was established in Kerala under Namboodiripad's leadership. As soon as he assumed office as Chief Minister, Namboodiripad aimed to travel directly to Soviet Russia regarding the coconut issue, seeking economic and military assistance from Khrushchev, and initiate a 'khooni andolan' in India to seize power," Dubey stated in a post on X (in Hindi).
He further alleged that the American administration and intelligence agencies were directly involved in aiding the Congress leadership at that time.
"Conversely, the American government and the CIA were actively supporting then-Congress President Indira Gandhi and Prime Minister Nehru in their efforts to topple the Communist government.
