BJP Officials Present Proof of Unlawful Voters in Delhi, Call for Prompt Action from EC

New Delhi, Dec 13 (NationPress) A BJP delegation from Delhi, led by state president Virendra Sachdeva, convened with the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) along with two other Election Commissioners on Friday to formally object to the presence of illegal voters, which includes infiltrators of Rohingya and Bangladeshi origin, duplicate voters, and entries featuring non-existent addresses in the voter rolls of Delhi.
The delegation urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to prioritize this pressing issue to guarantee a transparent and equitable election for the Delhi Assembly.
This group, which comprised BJP leaders such as Om Pathak, MoS Harsh Malhotra, MP Bansuri Swaraj, Praveen Shankar Kapoor, and Advocate Sanket Gupta, presented a comprehensive report to the ECI, backed by primary evidence totaling 5,000 pages.
Sachdeva expressed alarm over the sudden and unusually high influx of new voter registrations occurring between the end of the Lok Sabha elections and the commencement of the Delhi Assembly elections.
He noted that this surge significantly surpasses the normal voter registration rate seen during the annual summary revision.
Additionally, he pointed out the alarming discovery of thousands of Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators listed as voters, along with duplicate entries and voters linked to non-existent addresses.
The BJP delegation called on the ECI to initiate a campaign aimed at curbing the registration of illegal voters and to implement measures to prevent unlawful voting. Sachdeva recommended that the ECI conduct radio and print media campaigns to warn bogus voters about the potential consequences, including imprisonment for illegal registration or voting.
Bansuri Swaraj presented 18 pieces of evidence illustrating how infiltrators are registered, including cases of multiple entries for individuals sharing the same family details and address. She also submitted evidence of voters listed at non-existent addresses.
Bansuri highlighted at least six instances from various assemblies where voters belonging to a particular community are registered at non-existent addresses.
Harsh Malhotra emphasized the misleading narrative propagated by the Delhi Government, clarifying that the BJP's objections are not directed at voters of Indian origin but rather at infiltrators and fraudulent entries.
Om Pathak implored the ECI to ensure a free, fair, and transparent election process in Delhi. The meeting has elevated hopes for prompt action from the Election Commission.
Sachdeva pointed out that based on an August 2024 circular from the ECI, BJP booth-level agents and other party workers have been surveying all 70 assembly constituencies and have uncovered the presence of hundreds of thousands of Bangladeshi or Rohingya origin infiltrators registered as voters in Delhi, in addition to duplicate voters and those linked to non-existent addresses.
Every constituency in Delhi is found to contain a substantial number of deceased or permanently relocated voters.
