New Delhi, March 15 (NationPress) As the West Bengal Assembly elections draw closer, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday conveyed its optimism about dethroning the Trinamool Congress government led by Mamata Banerjee.

High-ranking BJP officials shared that the party anticipates a robust showing in the upcoming two-phase Assembly elections set for April 23 and April 29, with results to be revealed on May 4.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan told the media that he believes a significant political transformation is imminent in the state.

He stated: “The citizens of Bengal have resolved to change the current administration under Mamata Banerjee. There exists rampant atrocity, corruption, and nepotism. The people of Bengal are determined to remove Mamata Banerjee from power.”

Similarly, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju affirmed that the BJP will secure victory in the state.

“The BJP will emerge victorious in West Bengal this time as the populace is disillusioned with the Trinamool Congress,” he remarked.

BJP MP Gulam Ali Khatana informed IANS that the residents of the state are intent on effectuating political change.

“The citizens of Bengal are resolute. The Trinamool Congress is aligning with infiltrators, while the youth of the nation are committed to national interests. They aspire to construct a developed India and support Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he expressed.

Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, asserted that the BJP is progressively making inroads in West Bengal.

“In West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress is falling behind while the BJP is gaining momentum. The Trinamool is rattled by the prevailing atmosphere that favors the BJP. Our party activists are also facing violence. The Trinamool Congress is misusing its authority. The state’s law and order situation has deteriorated,” Maurya said.

He accused the Trinamool Congress-led administration in West Bengal of providing refuge to infiltrators.

“The populace of West Bengal will react to this. The Lotus will flourish in Bengal,” he added.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh alleged that the Trinamool Congress administration has devolved into a “government of goons.”

“It is no longer a democratic institution. It relies on goons, bureaucrats, and police. It has even politicized law enforcement,” he told IANS.

He further stated, “For the people of West Bengal, it’s a critical moment. This time, Bengal must be preserved, or else Hindus may emigrate from the state.”

Singh also warned that if the Mamata Banerjee administration remains in power, it could turn the state into “another Bangladesh.”

Commenting on the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) raids on I-PAC and Banerjee's response, he remarked, “Everyone witnessed her attempting to flee with the documents.”

Singh also pointed out that the Chief Minister of West Bengal neglects discussions on unemployment and development issues.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the election timeline for four states and one Union Territory on Sunday, outlining measures to guarantee free, fair, and transparent Assembly elections.

Alongside West Bengal, Assam and Kerala will hold elections in a single phase on April 9. The Union Territory of Puducherry will also vote on April 9, while Tamil Nadu will conduct elections for all 234 Assembly seats in a single phase on April 23.

The results of all Assembly elections will be disclosed on May 4.
