New Delhi, May 5 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a fierce critique against the Congress party and the INDIA bloc on Monday, accusing them of undermining the morale of India’s armed forces by casting an evil eye and consistently questioning their valour.
During a press conference, Sudhanshu Trivedi targeted the grand old party and the INDIA bloc, following remarks by Congress leader Ajay Rai who ridiculed the Rafale fighter jets. He stated, “While Pakistan persistently breaches ceasefire and attacks Indian posts from across the border, these leaders are launching their own offensive from within through anti-India rhetoric.”
“Pakistan views the Indian armed forces with trepidation, yet it is the Congress and INDIA bloc leaders who are casting an evil eye on them,” he emphasized.
Trivedi expressed strong disapproval of Ajay Rai’s supposed comparison of Rafale jets to a toy and his mockery involving nimbu-mirchi aimed at the fighter planes.
“This reveals the mindset of the INDIA bloc. They aren’t just demoralizing the armed forces; they are also ridiculing Hindu religious customs,” he stated.
Ajay Rai ignited significant controversy on Saturday night by mocking the Rafale fighter jets and questioning why the government has left them in hangars adorned with chilly and lemon. This sparked a wave of vehement reactions and a counter-offensive from the BJP.
The BJP Rajya Sabha MP remarked that the anti-India remarks from Congress and the INDIA bloc leaders provide Pakistan with an opportunity to undermine India and disparage our armed forces. He noted that Pakistani platforms are leveraging their statements to foster an anti-India narrative.
Notably, Ajay Rai’s mockery comes shortly after the CWC passed a resolution urging its leaders to align with the party line on national security matters and warned of disciplinary actions for offhand comments.
Sudhanshu Trivedi highlighted multiple remarks from senior Congress figures, suggesting that these statements appear to be part of a larger agenda rather than isolated instances.
“These individuals are top leaders of the Congress party. From Congress CM Siddaramaiah to former CM Charanjit Singh Channi, and UP Congress chief Ajay Rai, all seem to contradict Congress’ declared stance on national unity,” he pointed out.
“This reflects their duplicity and a similarity to the neighboring nation. While Pakistan promotes terror on Indian soil and presents itself as a peacemaker, Congress exhibits the same strategy—one segment claims allegiance to the nation while another engages in disparaging rhetoric against the nation and its armed forces,” he asserted.
He also underscored the significant differences between the Modi government and prior Congress administrations in combating terror.
“In the aftermath of terror attacks during the UPA regime, Congress governments persisted with diplomatic talks with Pakistan, a practice that has not occurred under the NDA,” he stated.
He further noted that following the 26/11 tragedy, the Air Force was poised to retaliate, but the then-Manmohan Singh government refrained from granting permission.
“It is your administration that treated fighter aircraft and jets as toys, not ours,” he countered directly.
