Bengaluru, April 28 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP on Monday commended the courageous women workers for interrupting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's address at a Congress event in Belagavi, which was aimed at protesting against the Union government.
“I commend all the valiant women who chanted slogans against Siddaramaiah and demonstrated their patriotism. Siddaramaiah owes an apology to the officer he attempted to intimidate and to the entire police department for the humiliation stemming from his unacceptable conduct,” stated BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra.
The BJP women activists had disrupted Siddaramaiah's speech at a Congress-organized protest in Belagavi, which targeted the Union government's alleged price increases, anti-people policies, and anti-national governance.
While Siddaramaiah spoke, BJP women began chanting slogans against him, criticizing his comment that ‘India should avoid war with Pakistan’.
Vijayendra accused Siddaramaiah of expressing “sympathy” towards Pakistan and making remarks that could undermine India's unity, inciting strong protests from “patriotic” women.
“These fearless women expressed their dissent vocally. Disturbed by this, the Chief Minister, in a moment of panic, addressed an Additional District Superintendent of Police, who was in uniform, in a singular and aggressive manner. This intimidating behavior by Siddaramaiah has tarnished the dignity of the Chief Minister’s office,” he claimed.
He further criticized Siddaramaiah, alleging that he is consumed by power and increasingly overstepping boundaries.
“Someone in the Chief Minister’s position should display maturity, refined behavior, and measured speech, yet Siddaramaiah exhibits the opposite,” he asserted.
He alleged that day by day, Siddaramaiah is losing control over his words and is displaying arrogance and a show of strength against both citizens and officials.
“The position of Karnataka Chief Minister is steeped in legacy and honor, upheld by numerous great leaders who have made a global impact. Karnataka is traditionally recognized for its civilized politics, culture, and values. Regrettably, Siddaramaiah's actions are tarnishing this proud heritage, diminishing Karnataka’s honor and the dignity of the Chief Minister’s office,” he alleged.
He also claimed that while the nation stands united to protect India’s integrity, Siddaramaiah’s actions contradict that spirit.
On his social media account, X, Vijayendra shared a video showing Siddaramaiah pointing at the Additional SP and raising his hand while questioning about the disturbance. The footage captures the Additional SP retreating quickly.
