Mumbai, March 25 (NationPress) The minority faction of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has initiated the ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ campaign, which aims to provide special kits to 3.2 million underprivileged Muslim families across India in preparation for the Eid festivities.
Aditya Thackeray, a leader of Shiv Sena (UBT) and former Maharashtra minister, responded to this initiative on Tuesday, making a notable comment regarding the BJP's tactics.
Thackeray stated, “Yehi baat hai agar koi doosra kare to kehte hain character dheela hai khud kare to sab chal jaata hai. (This is the thing, when someone else does it, they say their character is weak, but when they do it, everything is fine).”
He further added, “Mujhe lagta hai BJP ki jo Bhumika hai sab chunaavo ke liye hoti hai. BJP ka Hindutva chunaavi hota hai. (I believe that the role of the BJP is always for elections. The BJP's Hindutva is election-driven).”
In a media interaction, Aditya Thackeray continued: “I’m not evaluating whether they are right or wrong, but if you observe, whenever a BJP leader attends a match involving Pakistan, that’s acceptable. However, what happens in our country or what other parties do is deemed inappropriate.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ campaign is designed to help economically disadvantaged Muslim families celebrate Eid without challenges.
As part of this initiative, 32,000 Minority Morcha workers will partner with 32,000 mosques nationwide to reach and assist those in need.
The ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ campaign will officially commence in Nizamuddin, Delhi, on Tuesday under the guidance of BJP President J.P. Nadda.
This initiative will not only concentrate on Eid but will also extend its support during significant events such as Ramzan, Good Friday, Easter, Nauruz, and New Year.
