New Delhi, March 26 (NationPress) The BJP launched its comprehensive nationwide outreach initiative for minority communities on Tuesday, beginning with the distribution of ‘Saugat-e-Modi' kits aimed at the Muslim community in anticipation of the Eid festivities.
Led by the BJP’s Minority Morcha, this initiative witnessed 200 individuals from Navi Mumbai receiving their ‘Saugat-e-Modi' kits on the inaugural day.
The initiative has garnered positive feedback from the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM), an independent organization of Muslims that aligns with nationalist principles.
MRM Convenor and National Spokesperson Shahid Sayeed praised the initiative, labeling it as ‘historic and exemplary’.
He remarked that over the past 11 years, the Modi administration has made more significant decisions benefiting Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians than any previous government since independence.
“This initiative forms part of the same vision and should not be viewed through a limited political lens. It transcends a single festival and represents an essential aspect of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas,” he stated.
The ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ (gifts from Modi) program aims to distribute gift packs to at least 32 lakh underprivileged families. These packs will be handed out at various events, organized in cooperation with mosques.
On the other hand, the Opposition has criticized the initiative as a mere political maneuver aimed at securing votes from minority groups. MRM’s convenor condemned the Opposition's skepticism regarding the ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ kits, highlighting their inconsistency on minority-related issues.
“These kits are not acts of appeasement but a sincere effort to assist impoverished and marginalized families. Every government should embrace this approach to support those in need,” he asserted.
He further pointed out that regional parties like RJD, SP, TMC, and NCP have made grand promises regarding minority welfare but failed to deliver tangible results.
“Their actions only propagated a politics of fear. They did nothing for the impoverished but instead fostered anxiety among minorities regarding right-wing groups,” he added.
This extensive outreach campaign is perceived as a significant public engagement initiative through which the BJP aims to strengthen its relationships with various segments of minority populations, including Sikhs and Christians.
Similar kits will also be offered to underprivileged members of these communities during the celebrations of Baishakhi and Easter.
