Should Votes Be Sought on Development Instead of Making India Look Inferior? BJP Leader Critiques Owaisi
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Jan 7 (NationPress) Maharashtra BJP MLA Ram Kadam delivered a strong rebuke to AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, asserting that his recent comments signify a lapse in judgment. According to Kadam, elections should focus on development and logical arguments, rather than undermining India's stature.
In an interview with IANS, Kadam stated, “Owaisi is aware that his party's influence is dwindling. This has led him to lose his mental composure, which is why we are hearing such remarks from him. In our political landscape, votes should be pursued through rational discourse and progress, not by denigrating India. No political party thrives by consistently disparaging the country.”
Kadam further accused Owaisi of resorting to unprincipled election strategies instead of engaging in meaningful political discussions.
“Either AIMIM's leader has lost his way in thinking, or he is engaged in low-level electoral politics. This is a new India, where our Prime Minister is elevating India to global prominence, earning recognition worldwide,” he emphasized.
“India's economy has now secured the 4th position globally. Individuals like Rahul Gandhi and Owaisi are intent on portraying India as inferior while fixated on highlighting how other nations surpass us,” Kadam remarked.
His remarks were a direct response to Owaisi's recent comments about electoral behavior and political campaigns.
On Tuesday, Owaisi suggested that voters might accept funds from political parties during elections and use them for beneficial purposes, like building toilets, viewing it as an unethical norm.
He also called on citizens to reject the BJP, Ajit Pawar-led NCP, and Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena in the upcoming Nanded-Waghala Municipal Corporation elections on January 15.
Owaisi reiterated that Muslims are not “tenants or second-class citizens,” affirming that India belongs to all its people. AIMIM has nominated 37 candidates for the 81-seat municipal body in Maharashtra. “Voters should oppose these parties to send a decisive message to those attempting to dismantle the Waqf Board in both the state and the nation,” he stated.
Additionally, Owaisi recently referenced the US military's air strikes on Venezuela and called on Prime Minister Modi to bring those responsible for the 26/11 terror attack from Pakistan back to India.
