Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Kolkata, March 1 (NationPress) As the West Bengal Assembly elections approach, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to deliver a significant address at the Brigade Parade Ground in central Kolkata on March 15.
This major rally will coincide with the conclusion of the ‘Parivartan Yatra’ organized by the West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which commenced on Sunday. A total of nine separate rallies are scheduled to take place from different locations across the state starting Sunday and Monday.
Notably, there will be a pause in activities on March 3 and March 4 due to the celebrations of the ‘Dol Yatra’ festival on the 3rd and ‘Holi’ festival on the 4th. Rallies will resume on March 5 and will ensure coverage of all 294 Assembly constituencies in the state.
“Ultimately, the ‘Parivartan Yatra’ will officially culminate with the rally addressed by the Prime Minister at Brigade Parade Ground on March 15. However, please note that the program is subject to last-minute adjustments from the Prime Minister’s Office,” stated a member of the BJP state committee.
In addition, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to be present at the initiation of one of the nine rallies in Raidighi, located in South Parganas district, on Monday. This particular rally was originally planned for Sunday but has now been postponed.
It remains uncertain if HM Shah will attend the rally at Brigade Parade Ground on March 15, where Prime Minister Modi will be the main speaker.
Several prominent central leaders from the BJP are also slated to participate in the ‘Parivartan Yatra’, including Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Union Minister J.P. Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Skill Development Dharmendra Pradhan, former Union Minister Smriti Irani, and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, among others.
