Key Takeaways
Kolkata, Feb 27 (NationPress) The participation of Union Minister Amit Shah in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s 'Parivartan Yatra' has been rescheduled for March 2, a day later than originally planned, in light of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Initially, Amit Shah was set to launch the 'Parivartan Yatra' from Raidighi in the South 24 Parganas district on March 1. However, due to his prior commitment to attend a tribute event in Mumbai for Guru Tegh Bahadur, the program has been moved to March 2.
According to a BJP state committee member, Shah will arrive in Kolkata at around 10 p.m. on March 1, flying in from Mumbai. He is expected to depart for Raidighi by a special helicopter at approximately 11:15 a.m. on March 2.
“He will reach the venue of the 'Parivartan Yatra' in Raidighi around noon,” the committee member added.
The BJP has ten organizational divisions in West Bengal, with nine included in the planned 'Parivartan Yatra'. Notably, no event will commence from the state capital, Kolkata.
In addition to Amit Shah, numerous senior BJP leaders are anticipated to join the ‘Parivartan Yatra’ at various points, including Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Nitin Nabin, J.P. Nadda, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Dharmendra Pradhan, Smriti Irani, and Devendra Fadnavis, among others.
At the conclusion of the ‘Parivartan Yatra’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to speak at a significant public rally at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata, likely scheduled for either the end of the second week or the start of the third week in March. The specific date for Prime Minister Modi's rally has yet to be confirmed.
