Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Kolkata, March 5 (NationPress) The much-anticipated rally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal, set to take place at Brigade Parade Ground in central Kolkata, may see an adjustment in its schedule. Originally slated for March 15, sources indicate that the event could be moved up to March 14, pending confirmation from the Prime Minister’s Office. A member of the state BJP committee stated, “While the initial date was planned for March 15, we have communicated that changes may occur. The latest update suggests that the rally might now occur on March 14.”
The Prime Minister is expected to arrive in Kolkata on the evening of March 13. Following his address at the rally on March 14, he is anticipated to head back to New Delhi later that same day.
This rally, featuring the Prime Minister, is also set to conclude the ongoing Parivartan Yatra, which launched on March 2, organized by the BJP’s West Bengal unit.
Numerous senior leaders from the BJP, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and the BJP's national president Nitin Nabin, have already been involved in various stages of the Parivartan Yatra.
Furthermore, the state leadership is diligently finalizing the candidate recommendations for all 294 Assembly constituencies in West Bengal, intending to submit these to the central leadership for final decisions.
According to the state committee member, “This time, we plan to forward two distinct lists for each constituency: one will present three preferred candidates, while the other will highlight three candidates who are not preferred.”
Additionally, the leadership aims to adopt a more structured approach in recommending candidates, prioritizing grassroots leaders over celebrities, particularly those from the film industry.
