Kolkata, April 14 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted on Tuesday that should the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secure victory in West Bengal following the upcoming two-phase Assembly elections, they will abolish the widespread practices of 'Love Jihad' and 'multiple marriages' through the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

"It is unjust that certain individuals can uphold up to four marriages at once, while others are restricted to just one. This will change. Once we establish our government next month in Bengal, the UCC will come into effect. The culture of multiple marriages will be eradicated, and there will no longer be any 'Love Jihad' or 'Land Jihad' in the state," he emphasized during a campaign rally in Manikchak, Malda district.

Additionally, Union Minister Shah issued a stern warning to those implicated in corruption during the previous 15 years under the Trinamool Congress administration.

"Those who believe they can escape accountability are mistaken. Once the election results are in and our government is formed, we will ensure that every individual involved in corrupt activities faces justice," he stated.

Shah also warned that any anti-social elements associated with the Trinamool Congress attempting to disrupt the electoral process on April 23 and 29 will be met with strict consequences.

"I advise them to stay at home on polling days; otherwise, they will have to face the repercussions," he cautioned.

Furthermore, Union Home Minister Shah dismissed the aspirations of former Trinamool Congress legislator Humayun Kabir to establish a Babri mosque in West Bengal.

"Babar was responsible for the destruction of the Ram Temple. Our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has rebuilt it. Humayun Kabir needs to understand that the construction of the Babri Mosque will not occur anywhere in India. His dream will remain unfulfilled," he added.

He concluded by asserting that just as the BJP has eliminated terrorism and left-wing extremism in West Bengal, they will also put an end to illegal infiltration throughout the nation, including in West Bengal.
