Kolkata, April 11 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared on Saturday that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) assumes power in West Bengal following the upcoming Assembly elections, the new government will work tirelessly to restore the state as a center for heavy industries.
"Many young individuals from West Bengal are compelled to seek employment in other states. Over the past 15 years, more than 7,000 factories have closed their operations in West Bengal. Our tribal communities lack income opportunities, forcing them to migrate to cities like Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Bengaluru for work. Allow us to govern, and we will revive West Bengal's industrial glory and transform the state into a hub for heavy industries. Until then, we will provide unemployed youths with a monthly allowance of Rs 3,000," the Union Home Minister stated at a campaign rally in the tribal-majority area of Baghmundi in Purulia district.
During his speech, Amit Shah also emphasized that safeguarding the state’s international borders will be a key focus for the new government, aimed at curbing illegal infiltration through the unfenced borders.
"The Border Security Force (BSF) needs land to install barbed fencing at these borders, which the current state government (led by Trinamool Congress) is not supplying. We (BJP) pledge that after we take office, we will allocate land to the BSF within 45 days of forming the new Cabinet. We will effectively close off avenues for illegal entry," he asserted.
He also remarked that for the past 16 years, Mamata Banerjee has focused solely on placing her nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, as her successor for the Chief Minister's position.
"I am here to tell Mamata Banerjee that her aspirations will never materialize, and her nephew will not become West Bengal's Chief Minister. The era of the Trinamool Congress is over," Union Minister Amit Shah concluded.
