BRS Leader Errolla Srinivas Granted Conditional Bail

Hyderabad, Dec 26 (NationPress) A court in the city granted conditional bail to BRS leader and the former chairman of the Telangana SC/ST Commission, Errolla Srinivas, on Thursday, shortly after his arrest for hindering police from carrying out their responsibilities.
Srinivas was taken into custody at his home in the morning and subsequently transported to the Masab Tank Police Station.
The police then moved Srinivas to Osmania Hospital for medical evaluations before presenting him at Nampally Court.
Upon reviewing the case, the court approved his conditional bail, requiring him to arrange a personal bond of Rs 5,000, provide two sureties, and cooperate with the police during the investigation.
BRS officials Harish Rao, Vivek, and E. Dayakar Rao visited Srinivas at the Masab Tank Police Station. Meanwhile, BRS student activists attempted to block the police vehicle transporting him to court, but police dispersed the demonstrators.
Srinivas, along with others, was charged earlier this month alongside BRS MLA P. Kaushik Reddy for impeding police operations.
As the former chairman of the SC/ST Commission, he had been summoned by the police for questioning on three occasions.
On December 4, Kaushik Reddy, the BRS MLA from Huzurabad, had arrived at the Banjara Hills Police Station to file a complaint regarding alleged phone tapping.
Upon his arrival, he encountered Circle Inspector or Station House Officer Raghavendra, who was leaving the station.
Reddy insisted the SHO should only depart after addressing his complaint. When the officer explained he had urgent matters to attend to and would take the complaint upon his return, the MLA expressed his displeasure.
A confrontation ensued between Reddy and the SHO, with the MLA asserting it was the SHO's duty to assist him appropriately when he visited the police station. He was overheard threatening the police officer.
Supporters of the MLA obstructed the SHO's vehicle, chanting slogans. The SHO returned and accepted the complaint from Reddy.
Following the SHO's complaint, police charged Kaushik Reddy and his associates with unlawful assembly, using force to obstruct public servants, criminal intimidation, wrongful restraint, public nuisance, and rioting.
Kaushik Reddy was arrested the following day but was granted bail by the court on the same day.
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao condemned the arrest of Srinivas, claiming that the Congress government is targeting BRS leaders for challenging the ruling party's failure to fulfill promises made to Dalits and Bahujan communities.
