Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday, 23 July declared that his legal team is preparing a notice to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, demanding either a public apology or a court battle over allegations linking him to Globarena, a company accused of irregularities in the state's Intermediate examination results. Rama Rao flatly denied any connection to the firm, calling the claims defamatory and politically motivated.

What Sparked the Confrontation

The dispute traces back to a rally Revanth Reddy addressed on Wednesday in his constituency Kodangal, where he was protesting the detention of Congress leaders — including Rahul Gandhi — in New Delhi during a demonstration outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence over the NEET question paper leak. In that address, the Chief Minister alleged that Globarena committed irregularities in 2019 Intermediate examination results when the BRS was in power, a crisis that he claimed cost 27 students their lives.

CM Revanth Reddy's Allegations Against KTR

Revanth Reddy alleged that Globarena was a proxy company linked to K.T. Rama Rao and that Rama Rao awarded the examination project to the firm despite it allegedly lacking the necessary experience and qualifications, purportedly under political pressure. The Chief Minister further claimed that after the Congress came to power in Telangana, Globarena rebranded itself as Coempt Education and approached the Central government, with Rama Rao allegedly facilitating a fresh contract through BJP leadership in Delhi. These allegations have not been independently verified.

KTR's Sharp Rebuttal on X

Rama Rao responded pointedly in a post on X, challenging the Chief Minister's conduct in office. 'Resorting to peddling fake news on a very unfortunate incident like paper leaks is abhorrent and defaming to your position. Don't use that for your cheap agendas,' he wrote. He added: 'Let me reiterate once again — BRS or my family or I have NO links to Globarena whatsoever. My legal team is shortly sending you a notice to either apologise or face legal action. Mr. Cheap Minister, Most of the times, I don't respond to your vulgar and wild allegations because they are absurd to begin with. My silence doesn't mean I agree with you. It just that I don't like wrestling in the dirt.'

This clash is the latest in an escalating war of words between the ruling Congress in Telangana and the principal opposition BRS. The 2019 Intermediate results crisis — in which a large number of students were reported to have died by suicide following alleged errors in result processing — remains one of the most politically sensitive episodes in recent Telangana history.
