Hyderabad, March 13 (NationPress) K.T. Rama Rao, the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has called for an investigation by Central agencies into the alleged improper distribution of government contracts to KLSR Infratech Private Limited, which he claims is connected to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy as a benami entity.

In a letter sent to Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday, he expressed serious apprehensions regarding the worsening law and order situation in Telangana.

KTR accused the state government of manipulating evidence during the inquiry into KLSR Infratech, allegedly under the influence of the Chief Minister.

He lamented the unfortunate reality that government officials informed the High Court that critical evidence related to the case had mysteriously disappeared.

KTR emphasized that this incident exemplifies the alarming decline in law and order within the state and the undue pressure applied to investigative bodies. He claimed that the Chief Minister has abused his power to intimidate officials into destroying evidence in order to safeguard his benami company.

He urged the Indian government to facilitate a thorough and unbiased investigation into the financial discrepancies, contract allocations, and potential money laundering associated with KLSR Infratech.

KTR has requested that central investigative agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED), and Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) undertake a detailed examination of the case.

The BRS working president asserted that the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated to the point where public trust in the police and investigative agencies has been significantly undermined. He noted that despite KLSR Infratech being in insolvency proceedings, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has awarded substantial government contracts to the company.

Reportedly, contracts exceeding Rs 2,500 crore have been granted to KLSR Infratech while it is undergoing insolvency proceedings. These contracts encompass irrigation projects, drinking water supply initiatives, Young India Integrated School projects, and significant road construction endeavors. KTR raised critical concerns regarding adherence to government procurement standards, financial qualifications, and transparency within the tendering process.

The company's insolvency case is currently under review by the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT). KTR highlighted that on August 13, 2025, tribunal member Justice Sharad Kumar recused himself from the case, citing attempts to sway the proceedings.

He also referenced reports indicating that AS Met Corp, the entity that initiated insolvency proceedings against KLSR in 2022, faced enforcement actions from state authorities shortly after the new government took office in Telangana in December 2023. Among these actions was the arrest of a 75-year-old cancer patient, raising significant humanitarian and legal concerns.

KTR pointed out that during a writ petition hearing in the Telangana High Court, it was disclosed that numerous key documents seized as evidence were missing from official custody. The Chief Justice reportedly voiced serious concerns regarding the disappearance of these documents. Furthermore, a recent fire incident at the Telangana State Forensic Science Laboratory has heightened worries about the safety of crucial forensic evidence.

KTR stressed that a transparent and independent investigation is vital for protecting public finances, ensuring accountability in governance, and restoring public trust in the rule of law.

Copies of the letter addressed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah have also been forwarded to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, and Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal.
