Imphal, May 12 (NationPress) The mortal remains of BSF Constable Deepak Chingakham, who lost his life due to cross-border firing from Pakistan in the R.S. Pura region of Jammu, are scheduled to arrive in Imphal, the capital of Manipur, on Tuesday, according to officials.

A police officer from Manipur reported that on May 10, Constable (GD) Chingakham sustained severe injuries during the cross-border conflict along the international border in the R.S. Pura area, Jammu, and tragically succumbed to his wounds on May 11.

The remains of this courageous hero from the 7th Battalion BSF will land at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal on Tuesday afternoon via an Indigo flight.

A wreath-laying ceremony will take place at Imphal Airport. Following this, the remains of the martyr will be transported to his native place in Yairipok Yambem Mathak Leikai, located in Imphal East, where final rites will be conducted.
