Jammu, May 30 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah commended the Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday, stating that the destruction of 118 enemy posts within a mere three days exemplifies the force's bravery, courage, and professional excellence.

While addressing the BSF personnel in Poonch district, Amit Shah highlighted the BSF's decisive action in response to Pakistani aggression earlier this month, emphasizing that over 118 enemy posts were effectively dismantled during retaliatory operations along the Jammu frontier.

Amit Shah noted that the BSF, which secures the International Border (IB) in J&K, had successfully disrupted the enemy’s surveillance network, inflicting a severe blow that would take years to restore.

During his two-day visit, the Union Home Minister assessed the security landscape, reviewed Amarnath Yatra preparations, and engaged with victims affected by Pakistani shelling in Poonch district.

“When Pakistan retaliated against our anti-terror operations by targeting our borders and civilian areas, it was the BSF jawans of the Jammu Frontier who courageously responded by neutralizing over 118 posts,” he stated.

He pointed out that the BSF methodically dismantled the enemy’s entire surveillance mechanism, a system that will require four to five years to rebuild.

“The BSF Director General conveyed to me that Pakistan has incurred a significant loss to its communication networks and surveillance apparatus, rendering them incapable of conducting a comprehensive information-based warfare for an extended duration,” remarked the Home Minister.

Commending the BSF's preparedness even in times of relative tranquility, Shah noted that their intelligence capabilities facilitated precise pre-emptive actions, demonstrating their vigilance even during peacetime.

“Based on your accurate intelligence, a well-structured counter-strategy was devised well ahead of time. When the moment presented itself, you executed it successfully. Such valor arises when there is national pride, a sense of patriotism, and a commitment to supreme sacrifice. That is when such results are achievable,” stated Shah.

He reiterated that the BSF remains India's frontline defense, operating tirelessly across deserts, mountains, forests, and challenging terrains with unwavering dedication.

“Whenever there is any form of assault on India’s borders, whether organized or unorganized, covert or overt, our BSF jawans are the first to face the challenge, yet they never hesitate to advance beyond the established boundaries,” he remarked.

Reflecting on his journey to Poonch despite adverse weather conditions, Shah expressed his determination to meet the jawans in person.

“I traveled to Poonch to express solidarity and share the sorrow over the damage inflicted on gurudwaras, temples, mosques, and civilian communities. Although I was informed that the weather was unfavorable, I resolved to travel by road and would only return after meeting the jawans at the border,” he explained.

Expressing gratitude towards the BSF troopers on behalf of the government and the citizens of India, the Home Minister declared, “The support for the BSF resonates as loudly as for the Army, which is a significant source of pride for all of us.”

He reaffirmed that the valor and sacrifices of BSF jawans have garnered national recognition and symbolize India’s unwavering commitment to security.
