Jammu, May 29 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah has arrived in Jammu for a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
A special flight carrying the Union Home Minister touched down at the technical airport in Jammu city on Thursday evening.
The Home Minister was welcomed at the airport by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary, DGP, along with other senior officials.
Amit Shah proceeded directly from the airport to Raj Bhawan in the city, where he will convene a high-level security review meeting.
Participating in this meeting will be the Lieutenant Governor, J&K DGP, and senior officers from the army, CRPF, BSF, NIA, and intelligence agencies from both UT and central authorities.
This marks Amit Shah's first visit to J&K post Operation Sindoor.
During his stay, the Home Minister plans to address BSF personnel at their Unit Headquarters in Khanetar and meet families impacted by Pakistani shelling at Dak Bungalow in Poonch on May 30.
He will also hand out appointment letters to the relatives of those killed in the shelling.
Officials disclosed that the Union Home Minister intends to visit religious sites that have been targeted by cross-border shelling from Pakistan.

On Friday, Amit Shah will head to the border district of Poonch, where he will address both BSF personnel and civilians severely affected by Pakistani shelling on the night of May 7 and 8, which followed Indian Armed Forces targeting nine terror infrastructures deep within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The Union Home Minister will speak to civilians impacted by the shelling at Dak Bungalow in Poonch, as well as to BSF soldiers at their Unit Headquarters in Khanetar, located around nine kilometers from Poonch town.
