BSF in Rajasthan fatally shoots Pakistani trespasser attempting to breach Indo-Pak border

Jaipur, Dec 25 (NationPress) A Pakistani trespasser was fatally shot by the Border Security Force (BSF) along the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district as he attempted to breach into Indian territory near a village in the Kesarisinghpur area.
The incident was confirmed by Superintendent of Police Gaurav Yadav. He stated that the intruder has been identified as Abdul Gaffar, a 33-year-old resident of Minchinabad, Pakistan.
He was found in possession of Pakistani Rupees 1,700 (approximately Rs 518).
SP Yadav informed IANS: "The body of the intruder has been transferred to Kesarisinghpur police after Pakistan declined to accept his body during the flag meeting. The name on the identity card found with him reads Abdul Gaffar, indicating he is from Minchinabad, with his age noted as 33 years."
The police officer emphasized that the BSF personnel had allegedly cautioned the intruder as he neared a border pillar, but he disregarded the warnings, leading the BSF troopers to open fire.
Items retrieved from him included Pakistani currency, a cigarette packet, and other personal effects.
Despite a flag meeting, Pakistani authorities refused to retrieve the body, which has now been handed over to the Kesarisinghpur police.
The police and military are actively probing the incident. An ID card inscribed in Urdu was located on the intruder. The site of the incident, situated around 50 km from Sri Ganganagar district headquarters, was challenging to access due to dense fog, which delayed police arrival until approximately 12 noon on Wednesday.
The intruder was attired in a kurta and pyjama, with his face concealed. BSF officials have indicated that further actions will be taken following a postmortem examination.
Kesarisinghpur SHO Jitendra Swami mentioned that additional information regarding the motive behind the intrusion and the items recovered cannot be disclosed at this time.
A similar event occurred 10 months prior in Sri Ganganagar, when another intruder was shot while attempting to cross the wire fencing from Pakistan into the buffer zone near the Sundarpura Border Outpost (BOP).
The region, primarily agricultural land, remains under strict surveillance by security forces.
