New Delhi, Sep 1 (NationPress) The state-owned telecom operator, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), announced on Monday that it has prolonged the deadline for its 'Freedom Plan' by an additional 15 days, now valid until September 15.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Communications, "BSNL is extending its 'Freedom Plan' by 15 days due to the overwhelming response from customers," the release stated.
Initially launched on August 1, the plan provides new activations with complimentary 4G mobile services for a period of 30 days at a nominal fee of just Re 1.
The original activation window was set to close on August 31, but has now been successfully extended to September 15.
Included benefits of this scheme feature unlimited voice calls (subject to terms and conditions), 2GB of high-speed 4G data daily, 100 SMS daily, and a Free SIM card.
BSNL Chairman and Managing Director, A. Robert J. Ravi, stated, "BSNL has recently rolled out a cutting-edge, Make-in-India 4G mobile network across the nation, fulfilling the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The Freedom Plan—completely free of service charges for the initial 30 days—provides customers a unique opportunity to experience our domestically developed 4G network."
He expressed confidence that the quality of service, extensive coverage, and the reputation of the BSNL brand will motivate customers to remain loyal beyond the introductory offer.
To avail of the Freedom Plan, customers can visit the nearest BSNL customer service center with valid KYC documents.
Simply request the Freedom Plan SIM with an activation fee of Rs 1, complete your KYC, and collect the free SIM. After inserting the SIM and following the activation instructions, your complimentary benefits will commence from the activation date.
Earlier this year, Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia attributed the strategic revival efforts of the PM Narendra Modi government for revitalizing BSNL, stating that the state-run telecom giant had previously been on "ventilator support" under the previous UPA administration but has now successfully re-established itself in the hearts of Indian consumers.
Speaking exclusively to IANS regarding BSNL's impressive recovery, the minister remarked: "At one point, BSNL was not just on ventilator support but was in a critically failing state."
He added, "Prime Minister Modi made a strong commitment to restore BSNL's full services for the nation. Today, we are witnessing the results of that commitment."
