New Delhi, May 27 (NationPress) Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced a remarkable net profit of Rs 280 crore for the January-March quarter, marking its second consecutive profitable quarter after emerging from losses for the first time in the October-December quarter of 2024-25.

Previously, BSNL had reported a loss of Rs 849 crore in the fourth quarter of the last financial year. The total loss for the entire financial year 2024-25 has been significantly decreased by 58 percent, now standing at Rs 2,247 crore compared to Rs 5,370 crore in FY-24.

The government-owned telecom giant saw its total income rise by 10 percent to Rs 23,427 crore for 2024-25, up from Rs 21,302 crore in 2023-24.

Support from the government through strategic revival efforts, including spectrum allocation and capital investment, has been pivotal in enhancing the company's operational performance.

BSNL's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) reached Rs 5,396 crore in 2024-25, a substantial increase from Rs 2,164 crore in 2023-24. The company's margin improved to 23.01 percent, up from 10.15 percent in FY24.

The telecom operator also successfully reduced its expenditure by 3 percent to Rs 25,841 crore, down from Rs 26,673 crore in 2023-24.

BSNL has been aggressively expanding its network with a faster rollout of 4G services and upgrades to its fibre-optic infrastructure.

Moreover, the company has reinforced connectivity in both urban and rural settings and introduced customer-focused digital innovations, including national WiFi roaming for uninterrupted internet access across networks.
