Mumbai, Jan 26 (NationPress) Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan expressed his commitment on Sunday to foster a unified, progressive, and developed Maharashtra, ensuring that all segments of society are included in this endeavor.

He urged everyone to unite and commit to building a robust Maharashtra while working collectively towards achieving the vision of a trillion-dollar economy. His remarks came after he hoisted the national flag during India's 76th Republic Day celebrations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maidan (Shivaji Park) in North Central Mumbai.

The Governor paid homage to notable figures such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule, Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Ambedkar, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, and Veer Savarkar, highlighting their contributions as great leaders and social reformers.

“Maharashtra leads in various sectors. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has instructed all departments to formulate a strategy to enhance initiatives aimed at public welfare in the upcoming 100 days. Online and mobile platforms are also being established to ensure that government services are accessible to the public,” stated the Governor.

Additionally, he mentioned the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to expedite governmental processes, along with the initiation of a cybersecurity project to combat cybercrime.

“Maharashtra is the top choice for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), ranking first nationally in attracting FDI, which is a significant accomplishment,” he noted.

He highlighted that over Rs 2,800 crore has been credited to more than 68 lakh farmers in the state cultivating cotton and soybean for the Kharif season 2023. Furthermore, the Udanchan Hydropower Project Policy has led to the signing of MoUs for 38 projects under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, which will generate 55,970 MW of power and attract investments of Rs 2.95 lakh crore.

These initiatives are expected to create 90,390 new jobs. The Chief Minister-Majhi Ladki Bhain Yojana has been launched to ensure the economic empowerment of women, enhancing their decision-making roles in families. Under this scheme, eligible women aged 21 to 65 will receive Rs 1,500 monthly. Approximately 2.46 crore women have already benefited from about Rs 21,000 in financial aid from July 2024 to December 2024.

Moreover, to promote athletics, the cash rewards for Olympic medalists have been increased by 4 to 5 times, and the prizes for medalists in world competitions have been boosted tenfold.

Earlier, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis raised the flag at his official residence in Varsha, with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde doing so in Thane, and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in Pune. Other ministers also performed flag hoisting in their designated districts.

Meanwhile, Rashtriya Swayam Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat hoisted the flag at Padma Shri Annasaheb Jadhav School and Junior College in Bhiwandi.
