Patna, Feb 16 (NationPress) In a surprising incident, a large number of flower pots that were set up to greet Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during his Pragati Yatra in Buxar were taken by local residents immediately after the Chief Minister departed the venue on Saturday.
The event unfolded at the district guest house located under the Town Police Station in Buxar.
The district administration had adorned the area with flower pots, many of which were rented from local nurseries, while others were purchased outright.
Once Nitish Kumar left, locals, including women and children, quickly grabbed the pots, leaving the area stripped bare before officials could respond.
A viral video capturing the incident has ignited a flurry of reactions on social media. Currently, a disagreement has emerged regarding who will cover the expense of the missing pots, with Nagar Parishad officials and suppliers at odds.
The contrast between the day's significant developmental initiatives and the subsequent chaotic actions of the local community underscores the difficulties in cultivating civic responsibility alongside infrastructural advancements.
Earlier, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched and laid the groundwork for 73 development projects in Buxar, totaling over Rs 476 crore.
Notably, he inaugurated the Simri Multi-Village Water Supply Scheme in Keshopur, a project worth Rs 202.70 crore, designed to provide arsenic-free drinking water to around 36,760 households across 214 wards in the Simri block.
Additionally, he laid the foundation for the Vishwamitra Vihar Hotel, aimed at enhancing local tourism, and commenced several infrastructure initiatives, including road expansions and tourism development near Ramrekha Ghat.
Nitish Kumar also reviewed the Buxar-Koilwar embankment road project and cheques distributed to beneficiaries under various welfare schemes.
