New Delhi, Dec 30 (NationPress) The forthcoming Winter Session of the Delhi Assembly, commencing on January 5, is set to feature a presentation of CAG reports regarding expenditures associated with the former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s official residence known as ‘Sheeshmahal’, financial dealings of the Delhi Jal Board, and accusations of corruption within colleges funded by the Delhi government, as stated by Minister Kapil Mishra on Tuesday.
During a joint press briefing with Cabinet colleague Ashish Sood, Mishra emphasized that alongside revealing the financial discrepancies of the previous Aam Aadmi Party government, the Rekha Gupta administration intends to address pollution-related issues throughout the Winter Session.
“Scientific reports detailing pollution levels over the last 20 years will be presented in the Assembly. We will also discuss the flaws in our fight against pollution and outline future strategies,” Mishra remarked.
The government aspires for a collaborative dialogue aimed at combating pollution, welcoming contributions from Opposition members as well.
Reaffirming the Rekha Gupta administration’s commitment to zero tolerance towards corruption, Mishra asserted, “Any public servant found engaging in bribery or corruption will face the same consequences as those recently suspended for misconduct.”
This remark referenced the recent suspension of a tehsildar and a sub-registrar from the Revenue Department as ordered by the Chief Minister on Monday due to alleged malpractice.
Mishra also criticized AAP leaders for disseminating falsehoods to stay relevant, stating, “This behavior has become habitual for AAP leaders. They maintained power through lies for a decade, and the public ultimately rejected them. They now believe they can perpetuate these lies in the opposition, but repeating the very mistakes that cost them power will lead to no return.”
Furthermore, he directed criticism towards the AAP government in Punjab for its failure to deliver on electoral pledges. “Certain decisions in Punjab remain unaddressed. It would be prudent to reconsider them now,” he advised, in response to AAP’s claims that the Rekha Gupta government has not met its electoral commitments.
