The CBI reported that they arrested the former Senior Manager of Punjab National Bank in Dimapur while he was in Guwahati (Assam), alongside the proprietor of a private company based in Dimapur (Nagaland) for their roles in the bribery scheme.

A case was initiated by the CBI on June 4, following allegations that the former Senior Manager accepted an undue advantage of Rs 1 lakh in his bank account from the private firm owner’s account in exchange for extending a Cash Credit Limit of Rs 20 lakh, despite the firm’s poor financial status.

On Friday and Saturday, searches were conducted across seven locations, both residential and official, belonging to the accused, resulting in the discovery of incriminating documents and materials. Out of these seven locations, five were in Dimapur and two in Guwahati.

CBI sources revealed that the investigations have uncovered that the Senior Manager received a total of Rs 1,69,000 from the private firm owner. Additionally, an invoice totaling Rs 2,06,200 for the purchase of electrical and electronic items was seized from the private firm owner's office, indicating that these items were acquired in the name of the former Senior Manager.

Some of these items were also found at the residential properties of the former Senior Manager in both Dimapur and Guwahati, and have been confiscated for further investigation. Both individuals were presented before the appropriate courts in Dimapur/Guwahati on Saturday, and the investigation is ongoing, according to the sources.
