Mumbai, March 23 (NationPress) The closure report from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding the infamous Sushant Singh Rajput case has reignited discussions surrounding the circumstances of the actor's passing. Nilotpal Mrinal, the driving force behind the 'Justice For SSR' campaign on X, has raised concerns about the agency's decision to absolve actress Rhea Chakraborty and stressed that it must furnish concrete evidence to validate the claim of suicide.
In an exclusive interview with IANS, Mrinal expressed his disappointment with the CBI's conclusions.
"The CBI has cleared Rhea Chakraborty of any wrongdoing, but if they are asserting that Sushant took his own life, they need to provide proof to back this up. We have been told repeatedly that Sushant committed suicide, yet no one has presented credible evidence that he did. If such proof exists, it should be disclosed to the public," Mrinal stated.
Mrinal, who shares his roots in Bihar with the late actor, dismissed the idea that Rajput would have chosen to end his life.
"No one from Bihar easily gives up. Sushant was a warrior, and there was no justification for him to take such a drastic action. The CBI’s report only serves to raise further questions about the investigation process," he commented.
He also highlighted the peculiar circumstances surrounding the crime scene, noting that the apartment where Sushant was discovered dead had been cleaned several times prior to the CBI's arrival.
"The room was cleaned repeatedly before the CBI even got there. What can the agency investigate when the scene has been compromised? If the CBI insists that the case is closed, they ought to provide undeniable evidence confirming that it was indeed a suicide," Mrinal asserted.
He criticized authorities for failing to provide a clear rationale as to why Rajput would have taken such a step.
"Sushant was not a failure. He had not lost his job or failed any exams. There should be a legitimate explanation, yet nobody has clarified why he would have done this," Mrinal added.
BJP leader R.P. Singh also responded to the situation, advocating for continued scrutiny of the investigation.
"The CBI has submitted its closure report following a thorough examination, but the Disha Salian case, which is connected to Sushant's death, warrants further investigation. We hope the authorities will delve into it to uncover the truth about all parties involved," Singh remarked.
He referenced allegations made in a 500-page complaint filed by Salian’s father, which claims involvement of significant figures like Aaditya Thackeray in the case.
The CBI has officially filed closure reports in two high-profile cases linked to the death of Bollywood actor Rajput, according to officials. One case was initiated by the actor’s father, K.K. Singh, accusing Chakraborty of abetting suicide and financial misconduct, while a second case was filed by Chakraborty against Rajput’s sisters for alleged medical malpractice.
The CBI has presented its final report on Singh’s complaint to a special court in Patna, and a separate closure report on Chakraborty’s case was submitted to a court in Mumbai. The court will determine whether to accept the findings or mandate further investigation.
