New Delhi, Dec 9 (NationPress) The College of Defence Management (CDM) marked its 56th Raising Day in Secunderabad, Telangana, featuring an engaging Raising Day Run and a Cycling Event, as reported by an official on Tuesday.

During the event held on Monday, Commandant CDM Major General G. Srinivas expressed his best wishes to all personnel, including Civilian Defence staff and other team members, and reaffirmed CDM’s steadfast dedication to enhancing defence management education, embodying its motto - “Victory Through Excellence.”

The event saw enthusiastic involvement from officers, staff, and their families, according to the official statement.

To celebrate the occasion, CDM partnered with the Purple Pacers and Purple Pedallers clubs to organize the Raising Day Run and Cycling Event.

The festivities also included the concluding ceremony of the Developing Responsible Citizens by Investing in Women Empowerment (DRIWE), a certificate course in collaboration with Osmania University, aimed at fostering leadership, entrepreneurship, social awareness, and empowerment among the spouses of Higher Defence Management Course officer trainees.

Additionally, the Indian Navy’s Band ‘Symphony’ delivered a special performance, enriching the event with musical elegance.

Founded in 1970, the CDM stands as a premier tri-service institution for advanced defence management education. Through its flagship program, ‘The Higher Defence Management Course’ (HDMC), the institute enhances organizational efficiency across the Services by integrating modern management principles into defence planning and decision-making.

The CDM has successfully trained over 660 officers from allied nations, significantly contributing to fostering global understanding and defence diplomacy.

Recently, officers from the Higher Defence Management Course visited the Andaman and Nicobar Command to explore the synergy among the three Services and the Indian Coast Guard in monitoring and coordinated execution.

During the Forward Area Tour, the delegation received insights into the capability development projects of the IAF in the island territory and the capabilities of the Amphibious Brigade, as stated by the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff.

“At the Joint Operations Centre, officers were informed about recent operational activities, including the ongoing 'Op Castle Bay', showcasing a high degree of jointness, integration, and synergy among the three Services and the Indian Coast Guard in monitoring, situational awareness, and coordinated execution at #ANC,” reported the HQ IDS.
