New Delhi, Jan 1 (NationPress) The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) commemorated its 68th Raising Day on Thursday, receiving accolades from the armed forces and various dignitaries acknowledging the nation's missile and technology leader.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh took the lead in recognizing the efforts of DRDO scientists and staff, commending their steadfast dedication, scientific prowess, and profound national responsibility.

In a message shared on X, the Defence Minister stated, "On DRDO Day, I convey my sincere wishes to all DRDO scientists, personnel, and their families. Their unwavering dedication, scientific excellence, and commitment to national duty are crucial for fortifying India's Defence readiness and promoting Atmanirbhar Bharat in Defence."

In his congratulatory message, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla remarked, "Congratulations on the Foundation Day of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). For decades, DRDO has significantly contributed to enhancing India's security capabilities, fostering indigenous Defence technologies, and fulfilling the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat."

Birla added, "From missile technology to advanced Defence systems, the commitment and innovation of @DRDO_India's scientists are a source of national pride. DRDO's role in bolstering the country's strategic security, self-reliance, and preparing an India ready for future challenges has always been inspiring."

He further expressed confidence that this esteemed institution will continue to set new standards in science, research, and national service in the future.

The Indian Air Force also extended its good wishes to DRDO. "All Air Warriors of the Indian Air Force send warm greetings and best wishes to all personnel and veterans of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on the occasion of their #68thRaisingDay," the IAF stated in a social media post.

Additionally, the Indian Army conveyed its greetings. "#GeneralUpendraDwivedi, #COAS and all ranks of #IndianArmy send warm wishes and greetings to all #DRDO personnel and their families on the occasion of #DRDO Day," the Indian Army shared on social media.

Founded in 1958, the DRDO aims to enhance India’s capabilities, fostering self-reliance in science and technology, especially in Defence.

With a comprehensive network of 52 laboratories, DRDO is dedicated to developing Defence technologies across a spectrum of critical fields, including aeronautics, armaments, electronics, land combat engineering, life sciences, materials, missiles, and naval systems.
