New Delhi, Oct 17 (NationPress) The Delhi Assembly complex was filled with festive decorations and vibrant celebrations as Speaker Vijender Gupta conveyed his Diwali wishes and called upon citizens to observe the festival in an environmentally friendly manner.
Gupta articulated that Diwali represents a celebration of light, goodness, and new beginnings — urging that it should also evoke a sense of responsibility towards our environment and society.
He highlighted that while the city is aglow with festive lights, it is crucial for every citizen to ensure that their celebrations do not exacerbate Delhi’s pollution crisis.
“This Diwali, let us light our homes with diyas of hope and awareness, opting for green crackers and eco-friendly methods of celebration so that the joy of the festival does not come at the expense of our city’s health,” he remarked.
“Diwali serves as a moment to rekindle the light of unity, hope, and shared prosperity in every heart,” Gupta stated during the ‘Diwali Mangal Milan’ event.
The Speaker lit ceremonial diyas, propagating the message of peace, harmony, and collective progress.
Attendees included Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, Delhi Cabinet Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh, Vice Chairman of Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti Vijay Goel, TV Personality Rubika Liyaquat, and various MLAs.
Member of Parliament Sudhanshu Trivedi and BJP State President Virendra Sachdeva were also in attendance.
“Diwali transcends being merely a festival of lights; it encapsulates a celebration of faith, unity, and renewal,” emphasized the Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly while addressing the audience.
He remarked that Diwali encourages everyone to dispel darkness and negativity with the light of wisdom, compassion, and togetherness.
“Let us seize this opportunity to fortify our bonds as residents of Delhi and collaborate for peace, progress, and prosperity,” he added.
Gupta expressed that Diwali symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and the victory of truth and righteousness.
“May this Diwali bestow joy, good health, and happiness upon every household in our city. Let the light of diyas serve as a reminder of our shared duty to cultivate a harmonious and prosperous Delhi,” the Speaker conveyed, extending his greetings to everyone on this occasion.
Gupta further mentioned that Diwali should serve as a reminder to work together towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Delhi.
