Dehradun, Aug 13 (NationPress) As the Modi administration remains resolute in the face of tariff increase threats from the United States, numerous farmer organizations across the nation have praised the Prime Minister for prioritizing farmers’ interests during negotiations with the Trump administration.
Farmers from Dhamtari district in Chhattisgarh shared their views with IANS on Wednesday, expressing appreciation for PM Modi's steadfast commitment to the welfare of farmers, livestock owners, fishermen, dairy producers, and others.
The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh of Dhamtari district commended PM Modi for prioritizing farmers' needs. They unanimously agreed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi consistently follows through on his promises.
“PM Modi has always been in favor of the farmers. We stand united with him,” they declared.
Animal husbandry farmer Mahi Sahu shared similar thoughts, stating, “The government will not yield to any American pressure. PM Modi makes decisions that benefit farmers, animal breeders, and fishermen.”
“This is a commendable decision by the government. The central administration is executing numerous initiatives for farmers' welfare. Our nation has transformed significantly,” he remarked, urging his fellow farmers to unite.
Dairy farmer Dhalu Sahu expressed, “We sustain our livelihoods through our dairy business. President Donald Trump has imposed a 50% tariff on India, which is entirely unjust. The Prime Minister's decision in favor of the citizens is commendable.”
Another farmer stated that they support every decision made by PM Modi, with every citizen standing behind him.
Uttam Jain, a member of the Vyapari Prakoshtha, criticized the continuous tariff threats from the US.
“Our PM genuinely cares about the nation's and farmers' interests. He advocates for every citizen and will not succumb to external pressures,” he affirmed.
A young farmer involved in fish farming for five years noted, “The US President is exerting pressure with tariff threats, which could harm the nation and its farmers. However, PM Modi has made decisions that favor farmers.”
