Chief Minister Mohan Majhi Calls for a Warm Reception for Diaspora Guests

Bhubaneswar, Jan 7 (NationPress) Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has called upon the state's citizens to extend a grand reception and show respect towards the Indian diaspora arriving in Odisha for the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, which begins in Bhubaneswar on January 8.
He emphasized that the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention offers a remarkable chance for Odisha to present its rich heritage, art, and culture to the global audience.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have undergone thorough cleaning, and various cultural events are being arranged to ensure a delightful and cohesive experience for the Indian diaspora.
In a video address, CM Majhi stated: "The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is set to take place in Odisha for the very first time from January 8 to 10. Indians from around the globe are visiting Odisha. This presents a significant opportunity for the people of Odisha after many years. We are committed to establishing Odisha's dignity and respect on the international platform. The delegates attending this grand event will stay in Bhubaneswar for three days and will also visit various tourist spots.
"I urge everyone to extend a warm welcome to our diaspora guests and show them the respect they deserve, ensuring they feel that all of Odisha is eager to greet them. Offer assistance promptly whenever they ask for it. Treat them so warmly that they will feel at home in their birthplace and country. It is also our responsibility to maintain cleanliness on our roads during this period. Our cultural ethos is 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (the world is one family). We regard the entire universe as our family, and those living abroad are our own people."
It's notable that choosing Bhubaneswar as the site for the 18th PBD convention underlines and strengthens the Central government's commitment to advancing its 'Purvodaya' initiative, designed for the comprehensive development of the Eastern region, which includes states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal.
The PBD celebrations in Bhubaneswar from January 8 to January 10 will highlight the vibrancy and achievements of the Indian diaspora abroad.
