New Delhi, March 19 (NationPress) In a significant move to enhance Ayush-based preventive healthcare, promote wellness, yoga, and manage stress among its workforce, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Ayush, an official announcement revealed on Thursday.

This partnership aims to foster collaboration between the two entities, facilitating the provision of Ayush-oriented preventive, promotive, and wellness services for CISF personnel, as stated in the official release.

The MoU is designed to advance Ayush-based preventive healthcare, wellness initiatives, yoga practices, stress management, and the overall health of CISF members and their families.

The agreement was formalized by Dr. A. Raghu, Adviser (Ayu.), Ministry of Ayush, and Pratibha Agarwal, Inspector General (Administration), CISF Headquarters, New Delhi.

This MoU will be effective for a duration of five years from the signing date.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, and Praveer Ranjan, IPS, Director General of CISF.

Major focus areas include generating awareness, conducting sensitization programs, implementing wellness interventions, practicing yoga, managing lifestyles, and providing holistic healthcare through Ayush systems. This initiative will also consider the feasibility of offering Ayush OPD-level services at CISF locations.

As part of this agreement, the Ministry of Ayush will provide technical assistance, develop wellness programs, and offer expert advice through its institutions and research councils. Conversely, CISF will ensure the effective execution of these initiatives across its various units and establishments.

This collaboration represents a pivotal step in integrating traditional medical systems into the daily routines of security personnel, ultimately enhancing their health, resilience, and overall quality of life.

In the previous year, the Ministry of Ayush also signed a MoU and Donor Agreement with WHO to create a dedicated Traditional Medicine module within the International Classification of Health Interventions (ICHI), which serves as the global benchmark for classifying healthcare interventions.

India is paving the way for the integration of Ayurveda, Siddha, and Unani (ASU) systems into the global healthcare framework.

Point of View

I believe this MoU signifies an important advancement in the well-being of our security personnel. The integration of traditional healthcare practices into their routine can greatly enhance their resilience and overall quality of life.
