Bhubaneswar, June 12 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, officially launched the 'Vikas Vahan' on Thursday, a unique state-wide outreach program designed to inform the public about the accomplishments and welfare initiatives of the BJP-led government in the state.
This initiative commemorates the first anniversary of the BJP administration in Odisha.
The 'Vikas Vahan' will journey through every block and remote area of the state, raising awareness about government schemes, hosting public forums (chaupals), and enabling immediate registration for key programs such as PM Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and Subhadra Yojana.
During a media briefing at the flag-off event in Bhubaneswar, CM Majhi reflected on the past year as a time of both challenges and significant change.
"Today (June 12, 2025) stands as a pivotal moment in Odisha's political landscape. Our government has reached its first anniversary in public service. This year has tested our dedication. Despite encountering numerous social and structural obstacles, we have managed to enhance services for the people through relentless efforts. We have honored our commitments made to ensure the welfare and upliftment of all communities, including women, farmers, tribal populations, youth, and the underprivileged," stated CM Majhi.
He emphasized his administration's focus on infrastructure and industrial advancement over the past 12 months.
CM Majhi noted that the BJP government, rather than merely signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), has overseen the realization of groundbreaking industrial projects valued at nearly Rs 2 lakh crore, striving to create jobs for approximately one lakh youths.
"With the inception of 'Vikas Vahan', our objective is to disseminate the message of progress from Bhubaneswar to every village. This initiative will reach all blocks and remote communities, directly engaging citizens with our services and schemes," remarked CM Majhi.
The Chief Minister also announced the release of a magazine titled 'Pragati Prabah' to transparently showcase the government's activities and achievements over the past year.
"As we make progress, our vision is to position Odisha among the top five economically developed states in India under the 'Samruddha Odisha' initiative by 2036, which marks the centenary of Odisha's establishment as an independent state," added the CM.
Earlier, on his social media account, the Chief Minister asserted that his government has successfully fulfilled 11 out of the 21 promises made to the citizens of Odisha during the 2024 elections.
"Exactly one year ago today, with the blessings of Lord Jagannath and your trust and support, we took the reins of government. Under the guidance of our esteemed Prime Minister @narendramodi, I took the oath as Chief Minister of this magnificent state of Odisha. With the commitment to serve the nation and its people, I have strived - and will continue to strive - to resolve your issues as a Swayamsevak, teacher, Sarpanch, MLA, and now as the Chief Minister," the CM expressed on his social media.
