In a post on X, Dr. Saha wrote — 'সমস্যাকে জিয়িয়ে রাখা নয়, সমস্যার সমাধানের মাধ্যমে উন্নয়ন‌ই বর্তমান সরকারের অন্যতম লক্ষ্য' ['Not keeping problems alive, but achieving development through solving them — that is one of the primary goals of the present government']. He cited South Tripura as a district moving in step with this vision alongside others across the state.

Santirbazar's Rubber Park and the SEZ Bet

At the heart of the push is the Rubber Park in Santirbazar, designed to add processing and value-addition capacity to Tripura's well-established rubber sector. Rubber cultivation is one of South Tripura's economic mainstays, and an industrial park anchored around it represents a direct attempt to capture more of the value chain within the state rather than exporting raw material.

Alongside it, the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the district is being positioned to attract private investors. SEZ frameworks offer tax and regulatory incentives to draw capital into otherwise under-industrialised regions — and for a landlocked Northeast state, pulling investors into a designated zone is a significant ask that the government is now publicly committing to deliver on.

Solar Panels and Flood Walls: The Infrastructure Backbone
