CM Sharma Claims Cooperatives Will Foster Economic Growth in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Dec 25 (NationPress) Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed on Wednesday that the cooperative societies throughout the nation will play a pivotal role in enhancing prosperity within the state.

In a significant announcement, Union Home Minister Amit Shah revealed the establishment of 10,000 newly formed Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (M-PACS), as well as Dairy and Fisheries Cooperative Societies nationwide, in honor of the birth centenary of the late Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

These initiatives are designed to invigorate the rural economy by ensuring the effective provision of resources and services right at the grassroots level.

The event included a video conference address by Chief Minister Sharma from a concurrent state-level celebration at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur.

During the occasion, certificates of registration were awarded to various cooperative societies, including the Ghevar PACS from Alwar district, represented by its President Ramesh Chand Sharma.

Chief Minister Sharma emphasized the importance of cooperatives in fostering good governance and empowering the populace.

In celebration of former PM Vajpayee's birth centenary, designated as 'Good Governance Day', the Chief Minister declared the creation of Atal Gyan Kendras in every gram panchayat to raise awareness and generate employment for rural youth.

He reaffirmed the government's commitment to tackling challenges in the cooperative sector and strengthening the movement with new cooperative codes, for which a specialized committee has been established.

Rajasthan is home to 8,000 Gram Seva Cooperative Societies that actively serve rural farmers, he noted.

The state government is also focused on integrating more women into these societies to promote economic empowerment, he added.

Under the Sahakar Se Samriddhi Abhiyan, dairy committees and their members will be connected to cooperative banking systems, facilitating the provision of interest-free crop loans, CM Sharma mentioned, stating, "This year, the government has set an ambitious target of Rs 23,000 crore in crop loans for 35 lakh farmers."

Chief Minister Sharma proudly proclaimed Rajasthan a frontrunner in establishing new M-PACS and Dairy Committees. These initiatives are creating new pathways for self-reliance among farmers and livestock keepers through RuPay KCC cards, micro-ATMs, and other resources, he elaborated.

CM Sharma concluded by reaffirming the government's dedication to enhancing the cooperative movement and uplifting farmers and livestock owners through crop loans and additional initiatives.

During the Sahakar Se Samriddhi Abhiyan event in New Delhi on Wednesday, Amit Shah stressed that these multipurpose PACS would greatly improve rural amenities and accelerate economic growth.

Amit Shah acknowledged former PM Vajpayee for elevating cooperatives to a primary role in India's development.

He commended former PM Vajpayee's visionary leadership, which bolstered the nation through initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and the Kisan Credit Card Scheme.
