Cold Wave Hits Rajasthan: Fatehpur Freezes at 0.1°C, Sangariya Records 1.3°C

Jaipur, Dec 18 (NationPress) Rajasthan is currently experiencing a severe cold wave, with minimum temperatures plummeting below 10 degrees Celsius across various regions. More than six districts have recorded minimum temperatures as low as 5 degrees Celsius. The intensity of the cold wave is expected to increase from Thursday.
The lowest temperature was noted in Fatehpur, located in eastern Rajasthan, at 0.1 degrees Celsius, followed closely by Sangariya, which reported the second lowest temperature in the state at 1.3 degrees Celsius.
Nagaur recorded a temperature of 1.9 degrees Celsius, Churu at 1.8 degrees Celsius, Sikar at 2.8 degrees Celsius, Pilani at 4.1 degrees Celsius, Bikaner at 5.1 degrees Celsius, Ganganagar at 5.9 degrees Celsius, Vanasthali at 6.1 degrees Celsius, and Bhilwara at 6.6 degrees Celsius.
A slight decline in minimum temperatures is anticipated starting December 19, with the cold wave remaining persistent. The Meteorological Department has forecasted a further intensification of cold conditions throughout the state on December 19 and 20, particularly in the Shekhawati region where minimum night temperatures are likely to drop even further.
A cold wave alert along with warnings for fog has been issued for several districts in eastern Rajasthan commencing December 20. The Meteorological Center in Jaipur predicts fog in many districts, with potential frost in certain areas.
According to Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Center, "A mild Western Disturbance resulted in a slight increase in minimum temperatures on Wednesday. However, from December 19 onward, the effect of the cold wave is expected to amplify. Dense fog is likely to blanket various areas in the Bharatpur and Kota divisions over the next couple of days.
A yellow alert has been issued for cold wave conditions in the districts of Dausa, Karauli, Alwar, Nagaur, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Churu, and Hanumangarh on Wednesday.
The Met department has also warned of dense fog in districts such as Churu, Nagaur, Sikar, Hanumangarh, Alwar, Jhunjhunu, and other nearby areas on Wednesday.
